Kylie approached the guards and produced her items to be looked through. It was a bit of an indignity to the situation, but she didn't let it show. One of the guards looked as though he were new; or at least his stance led her to believe so. She managed to catch his eye and engage him in polite conversation. Her interest in his work may have left him blushing, or might have just been perceived as the friendly encounter it was. Either way, she soon made her way beyond the checkpoint, thanking the young gentlemen for being careful and thorough.
