[Mariessa Tremaine]

"A pity, really... I was hoping something like that might happen," she sighed with a small pout on her attractive features.

It didn't last long though. "But, I will of course be cheering for father in the competition! Who else could possibly be my favorite?"

[Maester Simon]

Simon did see the beauty in Tremaine daughters, but since it hardly concerned him he had never put much thought to the matter. Appearances were things others worried about. "Mmhm, unfortunately the tales are usually just tales, mi'lady. Though, perhaps better that way. It would be rather scary if all the tales were true, won't you think?"

[Mariessa Tremaine]

"Hm, I don't know. I mean, there were dragons, after all, and there are few things that seem as scary as that... considering all I've learned from my history lessons."

And tales of mysterious knights were hardly scary. "But, I suppose there are probably legends and tales just as terrible? I'm not sure if there would be enough room in all the world for them all."

[Maester Simon]

"And last of them died hundred and thirty years ago, mi'lady. And their existence is well documented. I have even seen a shard of dragonbone." She was right, of course. "Some other legends, perhaps equally terrifying in nature, such as white walkers and living dead... " he chuckled. "Are just tales of superstitious northerners, I think. Some books do mention them - as tales. You would think the maesters would know if such flights of fancy were real."

[Mariessa Tremaine]

Mariessa nodded. "I certainly would believe that the scholars of the kingdoms would know if such things actually existed."

Hm... how had they ended up talking about walking dead when she had wanted to talk about mysterious knights.

"So will you be cheering for anyone in the competitions then, Simon?" She asked, as it did seem a nicer topic to anyone who would overhear.

[Maester Simon]

"Mhmhm. Mermaids, trolls. Everyone has heard a story or two, yet none has seen one ever." Simon assured with a calm voice. "I mean, mystery knights are real at least. Flesh and bone in armor. Often portrayed as heroes as mi'lady knows. One could call them a romantic figure, perhaps. Stuff for minstrel's tales and songs. Things the littlefolk love to hear about."

"I don't think so. I'll ask the local maester if he needs help with anything if several people get hurt, but chances are that I'll just try to catch a glimpse of the tournament, now that I have the chance."
