[D8 LA] Compounding Troubles

Kylie giggled a bit. "No, if it was only to calm nerves or aid in courage, I believe wine would be plenty effective. What wine lacks is the ability to aid in focus and other such things. I could have sworn I heard one of the squires speak of something being delivered for his charge and I was simply curious if it was common."

The Redwyne brought out her purse to pay for the items in front of her.

“While I’m sure such things exist, it is still frowned upon. No knight worth half his salt would sully his reputation with something so debase. He could hardly call himself courageous if he were scared of a little joust.” Somewhat discomfited, “why do you ask?”

"I shall be most honest with you. I have two elder brothers, both of whom take part in sport with lance and sword. I have been trying to notice and learn of the intricacies of such activities so I might impress them upon return." Kylie was leaning forward, allowing the man a slightly better view of her breasts than he would have had otherwise. It was quite subtle and her body language as well as her expression portrayed perfect innocence of the change.

"When I heard some soldiers received deliveries from a local apothecary before the joust, I decided to ask when we came to purchase the medicine for my own troubles. I'm not endeavoring to pry. I'm only sating my curiosity as to whether it was true and what they might be using. Knowing such details would surely allow me to converse with them more easily. Women can have such a difficult time speaking to men on such matters, as surely they only know such secrets of the trade."

Roll Deception, with bonus dice from Seduce, if any.

Though wary, he seems to accept Kylie’s explanation. “I’m afraid you heard wrong, milady, I weren’t even at— Seven hells, Sam,” the apprentice had split some thick liquid from a vial. Though he’d rushed to right the little bottle, at least half of it was slowly soaking into the work bench. “What’d I say about closing things? every time, that’s right, as soon as you use it, you close it.”

Nathyn clucked his tongue, “you’d better mop it up before it damages the counter. Now, what were I saying?” he returned his attention to Kylie, “right, I weren’t at the joust. The maesters can usually handle that.”

"Ah. Then it seems I should ask Maester Hubert. I have yet to meet him; do you think him open to such a conversation, or would it seem insulting? I should not allow my curiosity to give offense."

Claryssa traded looks with Mariessa over the spilled bottle. It would seem Squire Derrin's "Nathyn" was a bit younger than previously thought.

"I can help with that, Sam. Your employer has been kind enough to assist mine. It seems only fair." Claryssa moved across the shop, and waited to see if Mari or Jyn would follow.

Shrugging, “I suppose he might be amenable enough. He seems to have a fondness for people knowing enough to not come running to him every time they cough. Me? well, that’s how I make me money, I don’t mind letting people think there’s a touch of magic in what I do.”

Mari picked up on Claryssa's subtle look and followed her to offer help. Maester Simon had told her Tears of Lys was odourless... so she tried to keep her senses keen in regards to the spilled content.
