All the Festival guests are invited for an evening meal in the Great Hall, though it is a relatively modest affair ahead of tomorrow’s feast. The guests are expected to each be greeted by their host for the tradition of bread and salt, welcoming them to Grassfield Keep and extending to them guest rights.

Opt Out: You may choose not to attend the offering of bread and salt, or attend without partaking, but your absence will be noted. Gain 1 Suspect Point.

Step One: Most Gracious, M’Lord
Step up to Lord Meadows, bow or curtsy, and try not to sound like a fool.
Roll: Persuasion (Charm, Convince) or Status (Reputation), Challenging (TN9)
Critical Failure: Your governess suddenly breaks out in a cold sweat, wherever she is. -1 Salt Points and gain 1 Suspect Point.
Failure: Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt. -1 Salt Points.
Success (one+ degree): You are an example to all around you. +1 Salt Points per degree of success.

Step Two: Behaving for Company
The exchange and meal are formalities, and it behooves each guest to make sure that their behaviour doesn’t draw focus from the proceedings.
Roll: Awareness (Empathy), Stealth (Blend In), or Will (Dedication), Formidable (TN12)
Failure: You’ve attracted attention, the other guests muttering behind their hands. -1 Salt Points and gain 1 Suspect Point.
Success (one+ degree): You manage to be polite and cordial. +1 Salt Point per degree of success.

Step Three: Things Beneath Notice
During the meal, Lysa Meadows becomes pale, and abruptly excuses herself from the Hall, followed by Septa Gwyn. There’s nothing out of the ordinary there, surely?
Roll: Awareness (Notice), Hard (TN15)
Failure: All you notice is the food and drink.
Success (one+ degree): Something is strange in the air this evening. +1 Salt Point per degree of success, additionally gain 1 Suspicion Point.

Salt Points: The player with the most Salt Points at the end of the Event gains 1 Fame.

Jynessa went forth for her turn to greet Lord Meadows. She gave her meticulously practiced curtsy and introduced herself with a demure, yet audible, tone of voice. Unfortunately for her, she continued to go about garnering attention by refusing to keep her mouth shut.

The other Tremaine daughter curtsied elegantly, maintaining a regal grace as she greeted the Lord Meadows. "'Tis an honor to finally be a guest in the great hall of your home, my lord," she spoke in proper tones, clearly on her best behaviour so as to not do anything that would disappoint Lord Tremaine.

As she joined the other guests for the meal, she handled herself well, speaking little but enough to draw people's attention enough to make them want to know more. She did not engage in careless gossip, but carefully engaged in polite topics.

That there was anything wrong going on hardly registered with her though, as she was more taken with the company and the feast.

The hunter shifted uncomfortably a bit as he went through the motions of propriety. but, he managed well enough and took note of a few things.

Marten smiled proudly as each of his daughters performed their greetings so well. When they finished, he rose to his feet, moving just a little stiffly.

"My lord." He said formally. "You do us honor with your invitation. Truly, it has been far too long; time passes far too quickly, it seems. It is my hope that the next time will not be quite so long."

When he sat, his conversation was polite and brief, preferring to let his daughters do most of the talking.

Stepping forward with a friendly smile, bowing respectfully, Leovall complimented the beautiful lands around Grassfield Keep and Lord Meadow's generous reception. His words seemed to be well received and the formal meal was enjoyable if uneventful. He was glad to have behaved as expected of a young nobleman.

She did well enough with the greetings and such. As time went on she fidgeted more and more in her pretty dress. By the time Lysa snuck off she was quite concerned about the attention she was slowly gaining.

Alicent smiled warmly and genuinely, projecting herself well as she curtsied. "My lord, thank you for your invitation and your gracious hospitality. I am truly grateful that your lands are my first destination to visit in the Reach." She settled down and managed to blend in with others, a matter of long practice. Nothing seemed too out of the ordinary tonight.
