Festival of Roses

Servants fetch watered wine and put kettles on for tea, as Lysa and Septa Gwyn move amongst the ladies who cling together. Some of the girls are crying, others have stopped, while others still are paralysed and numb with fear.

Kevith relaxed slightly, as there did not seem to be an immediate danger.

Mari on the other hand stayed close to Lysa. "... are you feeling better?" She asked, but was starting to feel her own body and mind catching up to her with what had happened.

Her face pale, her hands clasped tightly together, is was fairly apparent that Lysa was mostly holding herself together for the sake of the other ladies. “I don’t think I’ll sleep tonight,” she confessed, “I don’t understand, what was she doing at this time of night?”

Jyn allowed her sister to play the more comforting role. It was something more suited for Mari anyways. "There are many reasons for an individual to walk around at night. It is often illicit but that does not mean malicious." She let out a small sigh. "What could she have possibly been involved in?"

Mari held Lysa's hands in hers. Her strong will was a boon in situations like this. "Jyn and I are here for you, Lady Lysa."

She gave a small nod to her sister. "Surely someone must know..." her gaze turned to the flock of hens. Little happened among women that others didn't notice or know. "Does anyone know?"

"The girls were preparing for bed, as they were supposed to be," Septa Gwyn stated, stiffly. "Look at them," she indicated to the huddled ladies, clutching bedrobes and cloaks about themselves to cover various states of undress. Only the Septa was fully dressed. Only the Septa and the now deceased.

"And no one noticed she was missing...? She was still fully dressed." Mari asked.


Kevith was pointedly looking in an opposite direction of the ladies. No need to get distracted by underdressed women, or make the situation any worse for them than it already was.

"Missing? Do you know where your sister is every minute of every day? Does your father know where you are, right now, after curfew?" Her voice was low and cold, and her eyes steely. "I am governess, not menagerie keeper."

Meanwhile, Lysa had honed in on one of the girls, she was the youngest of the group, sobbing hard, her eyes and nose red. Lysa borrowed a handkerchief, and put an arm around the girl. Stroking the girl's hair back from her face, speaking with a tenderness that was unusual for the proud Lady of the House, "when did you see her last, it's all right, take all the time you need."

Jyn gave a soft smirk at the Septa's remarks. However, her expression soon returned back to a more solemn one. "She clearly had reason to be mulling about at night. I imagine she was meeting someone up there. But then who was she meeting?"
