“In case? In case of what?” Hubert asked somewhat scornfully. “She was stabbed, and fell down the stairs. What more is there to know?”

The wound was highly likely to have been caused by a common dagger.

Alicent straightened and sighed. "Even the weapon wasn't distinct... Just an ordinary dagger anyone might have."

[Maester Simon]

“In case? In case of what?” Hubert asked somewhat scornfully. “She was stabbed, and fell down the stairs. What more is there to know?”

"I mean, surely she was killed for a reason." Simon explained. "Whether she saw or knew something she shouldn't or... if she was pregnant when she shouldn't have been."

[Maester Hubert]

"You're hardly going to find out what she saw or heard from cutting her open. The cause of death is clear, I see no reason to interfere with her body." The maester crossed his arms over his chest.

[Alicent Feyther]

Alicent nodded thoughtfully. "Yes... If she was pregnant, there would be exterior signs unless it was so early it would be difficult for anyone to know. I haven't seen anything like that so far, so... Altogether, that might be it for now."

[Maester Simon]

"You study, your rules." Simon raised his hands and nodded. "I take you will tell our findings to the lord Meadows?"

[Maester Hubert]

“I will tell Lord Bromley what he needs to know, and no more,” Hubert huffed. “I know you are fresh out of the Citadel, Simon, your young brain full of inquiry, but don’t go looking for shadowcats where there’s only a tabby. The question of who stabbed the girl, I leave to Ser Kenway.”
