[Lord Bromley Meadows]

Thirteen years should be plenty of time to let wounds heal, but old scars still hurt now and then, and Bromley recognised the pain in Marten's face. Stiffly, he got to his feet, "it's getting late, I shouldn't keep you any longer."

[Marten Tremaine]

Though not quite as pronounced, Marten was also a bit stiff as he rose.

"Sleep well, Milord." He said, his tone kindly. "And thank you again for your hospitality. It really is a pleasure."

[Lord Bromley Meadows]

"Until tomorrow then," he held out his hand to shake Marten's as the serving boy moved closer to guide Marten from the room. Groaning softly, Bromley was already returning to his seat, pulling a sheaf of papers towards, before Marten was out of earshot.

As before, Marten's handshake was firm. "Until tomorrow, milord."

Marten was able to resist glancing back at the sound of Bromley's groan. But he couldn't quite stop the concerned frown that creased his features. How quickly time seemed to pass, indeed...
