Look What I Found! (D6, EM)

[Maester Simon]

Sometime later a slightly ruffled Simon entered the tent in lieu of Kevith. The young man looked slightly disheveled, not having had the time to comb his hair after the night before. He hoped that none of Alavin's stuff clung to his locks. "M'lord." he offered bow to Marten, his chain jingling as he did so. "Good morning. How I may be of service?"

[Mariessa Tremaine]

Kevith wasn't far behind Simon when he returned. He wanted to know the answer to the mystery, after all!

[Marten Tremaine]

Marten nodded acknowledgement to Simon, but stopped, his brows drawing down suddenly. He nodded towards the dagger.

"Kevith... did you realize that the pommel to that dagger can be unscrewed? There may be something inside it."

[Mariessa Tremaine]

"What?" Kevith sounded geniunly suprirsed and closed the distance between them in a few brisk strides. "No... didn't see that." He looked at it with a slight frown.

Picking up the dagger, he looked it over once more, before giving the attempt to unscrew the pommel.

Unscrewing the pommel reveals a tiny phial concealed within the weapon's handle. The phial is almost empty, a drop of colourless liquid clinging to the inside of the glass.

"Seven Hells," Kevith held up the vial for both maester and lord to see. He could guess what it might be, but he wanted the expert's opinion.

[Maester Simon]

Simon blinked. "My lord is crafty as he is fair." Simon muttered, obviously impressed by the discovery. "Could I have that?" he asked.

[Mariessa Tremaine]

Nodding, the large man passed the phial to Simon. "Seems like there's something left in it?"

[Maester Simon]

Simon shook the vial carefully. "Yes." Gingerly, he waved a hand over the vial to see if he could catch a scent of its vapors. "Doesn't smell like anything. Not I'd drink this." Simon muttered dryly, squinting his eyes as he turned to Kevith. "Where did you say you found this?"

[Mariessa Tremaine]

"Found it wrapped up in cloth and red cord outside my tent. Had a note with my name on it," Kevith grumbled, clearly puzzled by the entire thing, but he showed Simon the note as well. It did indeed have Kevith's name on it, in a neat, tidy hand.
