"Let me see..." Simon muttered. "Off with your shirt, mi'lord, with all due respect." maester's tone was polite but demanding. Once he had access to Marten's side, Simon began poking the wound with his fingers, trying to see if he could squeeze out pus and tissue fluids. Sniffling followed. Content that his lord was not rotting from within, he seized the same cloth he had used on Mariessa, doused it with cheap wine and began slathering Marten's wound. "Should be all good mi'lord, as long as you won't do anything unnecessary." Like jousting... Looking at his handwork, Simon looked up. "I think you'll manage without stitches, but I'll want to put a poultice on it." And so he set to work, mixing herbs and honey to created a greenish pasted that smelled sweet.
Sometime later Simon tightened a bandage around Marten's waist and nodded. "Done, I think. Though you'll want to show that to me tomorrow mi'lord. Just in cast it starts to rot, so I can cut the foul parts of before it eats you inside out."
