[Mariessa Tremaine]

"So clever and gentle," Mari joined in the giggling. "I think we can work with that!"

Finding a good husband for her sister was something she would enjoy more than finding one for herself. Probably.

[Jynessa Tremaine]

"I suppose he should be strong and capable as well. It would not do for him to embarrass the household by being unfit for physical activity."

[Mariessa Tremaine]

"True, true..." she mused. "But what if he's got something like, say, an injury from a war or something? So he can't fight anymore, but he's still a competent lord otherwise?"

[Jynessa Tremaine]

Jyn nodded. "Then that would not be a disgrace." Her expression turned more pensive. "Though, I admit it would be less than ideal for him to be reliant on others to defend himself. If he were to be assaulted, I would want him to be able to stand his ground."

[Mariessa Tremaine]

Mari shrugged. "He could have someone like Kevith around? Who knows." Though what she really thought was that Jyn could also learn to fight, but she knew such a suggestion would be met with the usual disapproval that their mother seemed to have for such things.

"... I should probably go and unpack too." She sighed and stretched as she got up from Jyn's bed.

[Jynessa Tremaine]

"Such loyal men are rare, Mari," she replied with a tinge of sadness, "We are quite blessed to have Kevith sworn to our House."

Jyn bowed her head in disappointment. After a few moments, she gave a soft, fake smile. "It would not do for your belongings to be left in your luggage all day."

[Mariessa Tremaine]

"Uncle Kevith is a rarity, I suppose," she chuckled with some mirth. He really felt more like an uncle-figure than a sworn sword to their father.

Mari gave Jyn a concerned look, noticing the disappointment. "Something on your mind, dear sister?" she scooted closer to Jyn. "You can talk to me, you know."

[Jynessa Tremaine]

"Uncle Kevith," she echoed with much less enthusiasm. Still, there was a hint of affection towards the man.

Jyn let out a wistful sigh. "Mother used to tell me stories of festivals such as these."

[Mariessa Tremaine]

"..."

Mari sighed softly too, and then embraced her sister in a close hug. "I know."

"... I miss her too." But she missed more how their mother had been before.

The younger twin leaned into the embrace. "I wonder if brother would have ended up facing father in the last joust," she murmured.
