Festival of Roses

Lorent, in full armour, his spear in his hand, guards watching warily, stood outside the Feyther pavilions once more. "Caim Feyther, show yourself!" Guards exchanged glances, and one scurried off to find Kenway.

Caim knew the sound of a challenge, so he didn't emerge until he was in full armor with his sword at his side. H was poorly rested for this... Sleep had been fitful, full of depression and regret. His eyes narrowed at the Tyrell knight, but his eyes looked dead already.

"I'm here," he answered, far quieter than the challenge was issued.

Eyeing the older man, "then you accept my challenge?" he pointed towards the Event Grounds with his spear, indicating that the fight should take place there.

"Yes," he returned simply, heading toward the event grounds with a heavy stride. There was no need for further elaboration. He knew the reason. Some part of him wondered if Alicent would be watching. It would likely be the last he saw of her.

Kenway jogged up and the two men began their march towards the event grounds, quickly sizing up the situation. Questions could wait, and he accompanied the pair in silence.

Reaching the event grounds, Lorent prepared himself for the confrontation.

"In the eyes of the Seven," Lorent declared, wasting no time with flourishes or showmanship. He saw a weakness in the older man's armour, and he exploited it, driving the point of his spear under Caim's shield and piercing through the splintmail.

Caim grunted as the spear penetrated his armor, biting deep beneath. Seeing Alicent's there distracted him, took some of the spirit from his fighting. He wouldn't last long, but that was how it was... He'd earned his fate.
