Festival of Roses

A wooden stage had been erected below the Lord's box, and Lord Bromley stood there with his Master of Coin beside him. The stands were packed to bursting, even though those in the northern seats could barely see what was happening. There was a small knot of men off to the side, scribes and pages and, between the stage and box, a pair of guards at attention.

A herald moved to the front corner, a piece of paper in one hand. His voice carried incredibly well over the distance and babble of the crowds. "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the closing ceremonies of the 296AC Festival of Roses."

Simon stood among the crowd, somewhere behind the Tremaines. He stifled a cough with his sleeve, wondering if the mummer gotten him sick. Alavin hung with the smallfoks after all.

Lily arrived for the closing ceremonies all dressed up. She had won the archery competition so she may as well look nice for that.

The herald announced, “the first prize today, for exceptional performance in the hunt, Liliane Marten and Terrance Stone!”

Bromley and Edred waited for the pair to show themselves.

Terrance looked to his sister and waited for her to take the lead.

Alicent attended, sitting in the stands, head dropped forward a little to hide the remaining swelling and bruising on her face. It was impossible to hide her bandaged hand, but she kept an air of dignity and dressed well nonetheless, choosing the black dress again for the sake of concealing her injuries.

Lily took the lead and walked out towards Lord Meadows and the stage. She wore a smile as she presented herself with a curtsy.

Leovall stomped his foot a couple of times from the stands as his cousins are called up. "Well done. Come now, go on." He watched with pride as they walked up.

Bromley bowed to Liliane and shook Terrance's hand firmly. Edred passed him a pair of small velvet purses that jingled a little. "Well done, and thank you," the Lord presented them a purse each.
