"Liliane, if I may be so blunt, is a jewel. She is a fine hunter and a better archer," his brow furrowed slightly. "I'm no Lord, I can't offer your cousin a Lady's life. But I can love her and honour her, I can provide for her; and I can give her all of the Green Forest to roam at my side, bow in hand, if she wants it."

The Marten heir leans back with a smile. "Thank you for your honesty Ser. Bluntness is admired in my family so that's also a good thing." He chuckled and glanced about briefly. Then he gave Rychard a more serious look. "I wanted to hear that from you. Of course I don't have any say in it, but my father, uncle and aunt do. Would you like to know more about them? In return I'd like to learn of your family." There's an apologetic look briefly as he softly claps the table. "We're not from here so..." They didn't know much in other words.

Rychard drained his ale and waved to Beth for another, "aye, right, what can I tell you, then? House Bridges, and the name might suggest, maintain a major bridge over the Blueburn. We're from the western side of Grassy Vale, on the border with the Casswells and Merryweathers. It's not the most prestigious of holdings, but it's kept our family comfortable for a long time."

"Me, I've got an older brother, so the holdings go to him, and that makes me a free man to serve Lord Meadows how he needs me. That's mostly by hunting - game or poachers, either's mostly the same to me."

"Nothing wrong about hunting either - fine targets both. We have some trouble with poachers and the like ourselves." Hillmen do poach. Leovall nods needlessly a moment. "And Lord Meadows is a fine man to serve..." He looks thoughtful before draining his cup. "Perhaps our families might meet in time? We're a distance away is all."

"Aye, it is at that," Rychard nodded in agreement. He rubbed his bearded chin thoughtfully, "if Lord Meadows takes interest, I imagine I'll find reason to travel to see our new friends. I might be able to lend my encouragement to the idea," and my chance to see Liliane again.

"A smart man like him? I'm sure he can find you something important to do that'd draw you to the Vale." Leovall agrees with cheer, lifting his cup. "Just be prepared to shoot some hillmen too. Would you drink to that?"

Laughing, “aye, I can drink to that.”

Which was promising. Leo gave a cheers with a salute to the other knight before draining his second cup.

Rychard echoed the movement, easily draining his drink as well.

Ordering a refill each Leovall then studies the other knight thoughtfully. Finally he leans forward and taps the table. "So, I've interrogated you this evening. It seems fair to give you an opportunity for the same. Come now, do you have any questions Ser?"
