(D2 EE) A Horse With No Name

[Jynessa Tremaine]

The noblewoman simply lowered her eyes at the first remark. There was nothing polite that she could think to say. However, to his next statement, she gave another smile. "Oh? And what if I said that you have the opportunity to boast now?"

[Leovall Marten]

"Apart from my equestrian skill and fine upbringing? Haha! Then I would claim to have the most promise of any young knight here, and in fact that any maiden who offered me her favour would enjoy seeing her name soar along with mine own." He grins a little more. "If you had said I had the opportunity of course."

[Jynessa Tremaine]

"Such a grandiose display," she mused with a wide smile. Her expression then turned pensive. "But what if every maiden comes to select you? Then which one would earn your favor?"

[Leovall Marten]

It was a good question. He gave it the respectful consideration it was due. "I suppose... it would be... it would be whoever impressed me the most." He laughs suddenly. "I've not had anything ever happen like that and doubt it would so I truly don't know. I could say the fairest, most earnest, smartest, highest of standing or such, but I have no idea. It would depend on what they're like too. They'd need to be sincere with their favour." Leovall gives a small shrug. "Who would you pick?"

Jyn looked back to the sunset for a few, long moments. She then glanced sideways towards the man and smiled. "There are many qualities that a woman could want in a man. I imagine a man must reach even higher standards than the fairest lady. After all, martial skill and stewardship must be harder work than maintaining beauty." A pause. "Handsomeness is also a requirement by many.

"I suppose this has not answered your question. But I like to imagine that there is a certain charm to mystery."

[Leovall Marten]

"A woman's mind is often an enigma to men." Leovall observes, dipping his head in gratitude for Jyn sharing her thoughts. "Food for thought." Returning her smile he says nothing more and just gives Josey a good neck rub.

[Jynessa Tremaine]

"The other way is also true at times. There is a reason why mystery knights are such a popular phenomenon. Everyone enjoys the story of a wandering man with a secret past." She let out a wistful sigh. "I suppose it's because we can apply anything we want to him."

[Leovall Marten]

"Haha true! Although it's equally possible he might be hiding his identity because of past crimes or failures." Leovall wore a slightly teasing look. "Not all secret pasts are good."

[Jynessa Tremaine]

"Of course not. That is why it is often said they are best left secret. Then we can imagine that they are always the dashing knight attempting to make a better name for himself, claim his fortune."

[Leovall Marten]

Leovall bowed from his saddle. "I bow to your greater wisdom in these matters my lady."
