And so it came down to one last match.
Marten had watched the match between Leovall and Caim. It had been an impressive display of jousting skill. And now it was his turn to face the winner once more.
Marten saluted before lowering his lance, and preparing to charge.

Touching his favour for luck the Marten heir then returned the other knight's salute.
If I can at least land a hit this time... The match against Caim had been a confidence booster. Maybe this time he'd manage it?
Lowering his visor and digging in his spurs Leovall charged ahead.

It was destiny that Marten would emerge victorious. For the second time that afternoon he knocks Leovall from his horse on only his first pass. The younger knight was out for the count and at Marten's mercy.
At least this time he'd scored a reasonable hit.
