"Oh... I mean..." Mari looked a little flustered now. "I would not object to meeting him, I don't think Jyn would either. It's more that father is really being insistent on us marrying sooner rather than later, and I suspect he and Lord Meadows are both of the same mind of seeing if there is anyone they think are suitable attending the festival."

[Rayley Meadows]

"No need to be shy," Rayley giggled, "Cortney's an all right sort. I'll tell you a secret," she lowered her voice conspiratorially and leaned closer, "Cortney shaved for the Festival because he doesn't want anyone to know that his beard is bright red. He's embarrassed by it."

[Mariessa Tremaine]

Leaning closer, Mari raised an eyebrow, trying to hold back a grin. "... He's embarrassed about having red beard?" she snickered. "What a strange thing to be embarrassed about. Men really are strange sometimes..."

[Rayley Meadows]

"Well, he doesn't have red hair. He doesn't match," she giggled.

[Mariessa Tremaine]

"Ooh..." Mari's giggle echoed hers. Then I wonder what the carpet matches...

"And to think men call us ladies vain," she tutted.

Rayley scoffed, "I cannot think of a single man who is less vain than all of the court ladies put together. The way they parade around, shining up their armour and training with their shirts off so everyone can see."

Not that she really complained that some men decided to train shirtless. Mari grinned. "They truly are more like peacocks sometimes than they care to admit, strutting around trying to impress all the ladies," she giggled. "I trust Elwood isn't too much of a show-off these days? It's been so long since I've seen him, we've both must have changed a lot from what we were like as children."

Smiling, “he’s a married man, that sort of thing is behind him.” In truth, the heir was worse than ever, between showing off for his pretty wife and showing her off to anyone who cared to look or listen.

"Well, I certainly hope so," she chuckled, though had heard differently. "If he let's it all get to his head too much, remind him that it's time he stops that sort of foolish prancing. You are his wife, after all, and if I learned one thing from mother, it is that a husband always needs his wife to speak some sense into him from time to time."

[Rayley Meadows]

The girl covered a giggle, “that sounds like very good advice, indeed.” The pair strolled along in silence for a time, before Rayley added, “did Jynessa mention that I’d like you both to sit with myself and Lord Bromley overmorrow for the display?”
