"I'm glad you think so... You have, too. And I wouldn't want to force you if it wasn't," she replied with a smile. It was her way to just sort of barrel through awkward moments however she wanted, regardless of whether it made things more or less awkward.

Cortney shifted awkwardly in his seat, "it's quite all right," was the best answer he could manage.

"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable," she offered with a gentle smile. She rested her hands on her knees, letting her cascade of snowy hair shift and fall to one side as she tilted her head.

Smiling wryly, "I beg your forgiveness, I suppose I am just too accustomed to being around my cousins to see them as beautiful women."

"Hmm... I can see how that would happen. It's hard to see people you grew up with that way," she agreed. Tasteless jokes from earlier aside, not that I have anything to do with any inbred families. Her lips quirked a little more. "Do you think you could see me as a beautiful woman?"

Cortney opened his mouth, closed it, "I suppose I could. You are very pretty," he stumbled over the words.

She chuckled gently. "I suppose I'll have to work harder if it's only a possibility."
