"It really is... I have a hard time imagening what my life would be like without Jyn, honestly," she grinned. Then again, she hadn't imagined what it would be like without her brother Lawrince either, and well... he was gone now.

"Do you have brothers or sisters, my lady?"

“No,” she smiled wryly, “plenty of cousins, though, so I wasn’t exactly lonely.”

"Oh. I wasn't aware you were an only child." She wasn't quite sure what that must be like. "... But it sounds as if your cousins were more like siblings, perhaps. Unless there is a huge age gap between you all, I guess."

"Buuuut, I imagine you must be looking forward to all the fun with a family of your own in the future?" Mari teased Rayley as she leaned in closer, as she linked her arm with the young lady this time.

With a blush and a giggle, “apparently Elwood was quite the troublemaker as a boy, I’m not sure I’m prepared for that.” A wistful look came upon her, “but I do look forward to a child of my own. My aunt had a little boy not long before I married, such a sweet little thing. I could hold him for hours, singing him little songs, if they’d have let me.”

"Oh, he was," Mari smirked playfully. Not that she had been particularly close to Elwood as a child, but she had some vague childhood memory that he was part of the lemoncake-caper. Or maybe she was misremembering?

"Aww... " she giggled a little too at the mention of the little baby. "I'm sure you will make a wonderful mother, my lady. It sounds like you have the right disposition for it. Me... I often wished I had a younger sibling I might practice the lullaby-singing on," a wistful sigh. "Even if I am Jyn's older sister, well, never did get much opportunity to pamper her like an older sister is supposed to do with a younger sibling."

Giggling, “I got to spend a lot of time with my extended family, I have cousins of all ages, it was a lot fun.”

"It sounds like you come from such a large family. Please, tell me some more... my own family is so small in comparison with yours. No cousins to speak of, sadly..." she sighed wistfully again.

"Well, the Penroses have ties across much of the Stormlands, a lot of ties by marriage. All the cousins make for a pretty complicated web. We stopped trying to keep track of first and second and removed, everyone's just 'cousin' now. Uncle Penrose is getting on these days, his son Cortney mostly manages everything now. They're the last of the main line, sadly, but cousin Cortney is at the Festival, maybe he'll catch a young lady's eye."

That did seem like quite the amount of cousins to keep track of. "Oh?" she couldn't help herself from giggling at the mention of a young man looking to catch the eye of a lady. "I assume he's here to compete if he is here to catch a lady's attention... what is he like? I might be just a teeny tiny but curious now."

With a small gasp, "would you and your sister be hoping to two of those ladies whose eye is caught?" Rayley grinned, "cousin Cortney's all right, I suppose, I never thought of him as anything but a cousin. He and Elwood get along famously, it's always swords this and horses that. But I think I could nudge him in your direction, if you'd like to meet him."
