"Even just riding around the village and the coast, or the hills around Leonart's would be fine practice." Leovall reminds her. "You won't need armour for those. Besides, I could always join you." He flashes a wide smile. "Of course if you'd rather embroider..."

[Liliane Marten]

"No! But I do like being on my feet. Riding feels like a bumpier version of sitting," she said fussing in the saddle before sighing, "You don't understand; All the interesting things to do on horseback have been forbidden to me. Spending time learning how to ride well or for long isn't really worth the bother."

[Leovall Marten]

"So what would you like to get better at dear cousin?"

Leovall began turning his horse around to lead them in a slow circle to face, and head back to, the Meadow holdings. A whistle ensured Josey followed along behind them with only a few pauses to nibble grass.

[Liliane Marten]

"Maybe swords," she said following behind, "Not that I expect Auntie or mother to have any patience for that."

"Or do you think I'd be better off with a spear?"

[Leovall Marten]

"A spear is easier to learn, good for the reach and it is more likely to be something akin to one to hand should you ever need to defend yourself. A staff or pole for example. Hmm... I've been through enough practice myself that I could show you either, but I'm not helping you hide a sword from either your mother or mine." He sucked in air and grimaced. "It's not worth the punishment, as much as I'd like to please you Lili." Leovall tried to look apologetic, but then a thought crossed his mind. "Why a sword or spear anyway?" He was pretty sure she didn't wish she was born a boy, but then again...

"I don't know," she shrugged, "You asked what I'd like to learn. If you asked what I should learn it would probably be honing my manners. There is always a certain allure in what you can not do."

[Leovall Marten]

"See, so you do know. It's alluring because it's a skill you lack." He chuckles some. "You don't need to be so defensive. I just said I'd help."

[Liliane Marten]

"No sense teasing me about it," she said spurring on Shadow, "Shall we head back?"

[Leovall Marten]

"That's our direction."

Shaking his head he sighs and laughs softly.

"One day I'll understand you."

"Well, you can try..." she giggled as they headed back.
