As the ‘handmaiden’ lashed out at him again, the man frowned, this is not going to plan. Fully intending to survive to cut purses another day, the hooded man knew he needed to cut his losses, if the foreign woman landed a solid strike on him, the damage would put him out of commission for a week or more; not worth it, he decided.

He slid his blade back into its sheath, and shoulder-barged the woman, taking her by surprise; enough so that he was able to push past her, stepping out into the street and fading into the crowd.

Kylie ran to Claryssa, both of them unhurt. Claryssa was still in shock. An armored, well-armed cut purse?

"Kylie, are you hurt?" Claryssa asked in earnest as she checked for wounds and bloodstains.

"I'm perfect, my friend. Thanks to you. Are you injured? Do we need to see the maester?"

Claryssa shrugged off her friend's concern. The only wound was to her pride that she didn't put her blade through the man's skull. She sheathed her weapon and brought her cloak around her shoulders. "Do you see now why you should always wear your dagger?"

Kylie laughed nervously, not shaking quite as much anymore. "Leave it to you to take this moment to say, 'I told you so!'"

Claryssa wrapped her arms around her friend and kissed her forehead. "Come. We will be meeting the Martens soon and we need to calm your nerves from the fighting and murder before we discuss the fighting and murder."
