[D9 EA] Closing Ceremonies

"Thank you Lord Meadows," she said taking her bag of gold and returning to the audience.

"Well," she said elbowing her cousin as she returned to him, "What am I going do with all this gold?"

The herald consulted his paper, “for first place in the dressage, Leovall Marten.” The guards watched closely as another purse was taken from the chest.

"Thank you Lord Meadows," she said taking her bag of gold and returning to the audience.

"Well," she said elbowing her cousin as she returned to him, "What am I going do with all this gold?"

"Oof." Rubbing his side he gave her a smirk. "I'm sure you'll think of something."

When he was called up he wasted no time standing up. Smiling and brushing down his front he approaches the main stand.

Lord Bromley shook Leovall’s hand warmly, “don’t get comfortable, you’ll be back up here soon,” he jested, handing over the velvet purse.

I like the sound of that! Leovall grinned at Bromley's comment and warmth. However, when he took the purse he blushed a little; it was heavier than he'd expected! "You're too kind Lord Bromley. It's been a pleasure Ser." He replied after a good handshake.

Turning around he lifted the bag and smiled happily toward his cousins, giving Liliane a quick wink. Stepping away he added another polite bow to the hosts before heading back to his seat.

"Hmm, what am I going to do with all this?" He asked Liliane playfully, purposefully setting the purse down on her knee.

Once Leovall had been allowed time to find his seat, the herald spoke once more. “For placing first in the wrestling, Kevith Uller.” A long moment drew out, and the man didn’t appear. Spectators shuffled in their seats, or coughed, or murmured to their companions.

Before the murmur could swell to a dull roar, Bromley nodded and the herald spoke again. “It appear Kevith is currently indisposed, his prize purse will be delivered after the ceremonies.” The man paused, took a breath, and continued, “for placing first in the archery, Liliane Marten,” he called the huntress back to the stage.

From the stands opposite where the Martens sat together, Rychard whistled as he and the crowd stamped their feet and applauded.

She chuckled, "Cole could use some barding I'm sure."

Liliane cheerfully made her way up to the stage again enjoying the applause. She curtsied to Lord Meadows again. "Thank you m'lord," she glanced back at the cheering crowd with a little giggle.

There was a good deal of hooting and cheering from the men in the stands as Liliane took the stage once more. “Congratulations, young lady,” Bromley said earnestly as he handed over the purse.

"You're right... oh, that's you!" He joins in the clapping and cheers as Lili is called back.

Damn, she's popular! He couldn't help but grin at the attention she was getting. Wait until your mother hears about this - it'll finally stop her grumbling!
